Robert Storm, originally from the New York area, is a graduate of schools in the Midwest. He lived in Chicago for several years after receiving his graduate degree. Upon returning to the east coast, he and his wife settled in Connecticut and have lived in Fairfield County for over 30 years.
Robert founded Robert Storm Architects more than 20 years ago and his practice has been in its Westport location for nearly all of that time. Although a good deal of his practice encompasses residential remodeling, restoration, and new construction, he has experience designing retail stores, restaurants and other multi-use structures.
As a traditional architecture firm, he strives to form partnerships with clients to produce elegant results. Many projects are derived from historical vocabularies that suit the project’s context. His work is particularly influenced by the European Arts and Crafts, American Shingle and Tudor styles. Licensed in Connecticut and New York, his new construction and remodeling projects are located throughout Fairfield County, Westchester County and the east end of Long Island. Examples of his work have been published in national magazines and most recently in “Shingle Style Architecture for the 21st Century.”
